Wings
2007
Dry Pigment and medium on Watercolor Paper
These were one of the first new pieces I had done in 2007, and they were the first pieces I made using dry pigment, so they are kind of an experiment. I made these to look like dragonfly wings. I had the wings from one of those really large dragonflies that I found already dead. Their wings actually have an opal shimmer to them as does the pigment. They remind me of stained glass with the veins of the wings looking like lead. Maybe I will make them in glass next?!
